Our ancestors (antepasados) were granted land in strategic locations…on the edges of the governable territory of New Mexico…we located in these key locations and braved marauding indigenous tribes because we had no other way to obtain land in the government of New Mexico, something that as a mixed indigenous people we were not allowed to own without a special grant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
